Flexibility made the difference for us

Hall Hunter, England – Mr. Vollebregt

Hall Hunter grows strawberries, in the summer on 260 hectares of land, in the winter and spring in 30 hectares of greenhouses. The greenhouses are washed three to four times a year with 4 machines. “We need to wash to keep the light input up to standard. More light means more production, and with washing we think we will get 4% more light, which means 4-5% more production.”

Hall Hunter has purchased fully automatic Roofmasters that can also be used to apply screening agents. “Previously that was done by contractors, but they are not always available when we need them. When the sun starts to shine, others also want to chalk. And when the days get shorter, surrounding growers also want to wash. With the expansion of greenhouses, we have opted for our own roofwashers, in order to be able to wash more regularly and to be more flexible in the deployment.”
